“MOHO” Joshua Tree Wedding Under 10,000 Twinkle Lights

Planning

moho joshua tree wedding with couple under fairy lights

This modern bohemian, or “MOHO”, Joshua Tree wedding was all sunset tones, glam pampas grass, golden hour vibes and dinner in the desert. If you’re not familiar with one of the latest wedding decor trends, you can read up on more MOHO goodness here. As the name suggest though, it’s boho wedding style done in a fresh and modern way. Maddie + Joe teamed up with Fawn Events to bring the bohemian vision to the beautiful Ruin Venue. Just WAIT until you see the reception setup. Over 10,000 twinkle lights people!!! M shares more:

Since Joe plays baseball for a living, we only had the winter months to get married. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding so Joshua Tree/Palm Springs became the top destination for our wedding, not only for the perfect winter weather but also for the desert vibes. Joe are I are both very simple and don’t love a ton of color, so we immediately knew we’d have minimal color tones such as champagnes, nudes, and burnt orange. My style is very boho so that immediately became sort of the theme for the day! Lots of pampas grass and open desert space. We tried to incorporate little things into our day to make it special to us.

Here at GWS, we like to think of ourselves as boho wedding experts. That’s why we love it when we get to see boho in a fresh new way! Take these invitations by Velvet Fox Designs. The impasto texture, acrylic accents, and fringe tails just make us ooh and ahh!!

Bohemian Bridal Beauty

Lovely Bride Wedding Dress

The bodice and the fabric of M’s Lover’s Society + Lovely Bride gown is perfection. We had to know more!

My wedding dress is the Tate Gown from Lovers Society and I am absolutely in love with it! I always knew I wanted an open back dress and as soon as I tried the Tate Gown on, I fell in love. It fit my boho aesthetic so well, it’s so me, and it is just absolutely stunning! I am so happy with my choice and putting it on that day is a feeling I will never ever forget!

As M said above, she’s not a huge fan of color which is why these champagne satin Fame & Partners bridesmaids dresses are a great choice. They let the subtle, sunset florals pop!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The most memorable moments of our wedding were saying our vows we wrote to one another in front of our closest friends and family. Walking back down the aisle after saying ‘I do’ was also the most incredible feeling in the world! Our first look is truly a moment we will never forget and eating dinner under our magical light tent was absolutely unreal. The entire day was pure magic!

Covid-Safe Joshua Tree Wedding

Covid Safety tips from the couple:

We were in constant contact with our guests to ensure everyone was feeling healthy and on top of their quarantining leading up to the wedding. We made it very clear to not attend if they had exposure or were feeling under the weather. The entire wedding was held outdoors, we had hand sanitizer at various stations throughout the venue, all staff wore masks at all times, and we provided masks to guests.

Advice From The Happy Couple

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Hire a wedding planner! Seriously, this is a must. If I didn’t have Laura with Fawn Events, I don’t even know what I would have done! She was there to support us throughout the entire process and help our vision come to life! Also, stay true to what you and your fiancé want for your big day! There will be so many people who will give their opinions and share what they think you should/shouldn’t do and although having help is a must, I think it is so important to stay true to your vision. But at the same time, it is also important to remember that everything happens for a reason and that no matter what, the day will be amazing because you are marrying the love of your life. And lastly, soak in every single moment because it will go by way too quickly. Everyone always told me this but you really don’t truly understand what they mean until you experience it for yourself. It feels like you blink and the day is gone!
