Links + Loves: Affordable Holiday Dresses + A Movie You May Have Missed

Planning

Welcome to another edition of Links + Loves! Let’s jump right in…

So, how’s that holiday shopping going? We’re thrilled to hear our gift guides have been so helpful this year! You’ll definitely need a cute tree to put all those gifts under. How about one made of pampas grass?!

We’re getting into the holiday spirit at GWS and have some fun things up our sleeves for December. But for now, it’s the weekend, and we’ve got a few things to share! {photo from this winter white inspiration}

Here are a few things our editors are loving lately:

From Jen:

If you live in LA and are looking for drive thru safe holiday events, we checked out WonderLAnd (which we loved) last week and we plan to check out Holiday Road this next week!

Just learned about a new jewelry company who makes these gorgeous goddess inspired coin necklaces and I’m in love with this RBG one! This would make a great gift plus 20% of all proceeds benefit their incredible charity partners.

I love buying my girls ornaments each year to remind them of the past year. I found this adorable handmade mermaid with a rainbow for my youngest daughter who LOVEs drawing rainbows and mermaids and my oldest became a huge sushi fan, so got this cute sushi ornament for her!

On this weekend’s menu? This pasta from fave Halfbaked Harvest!

From Danielle:

We’re big into the Grinch in our house, and I’ve snagged a few kitchen accessories from the Williams Sonoma Grinch collection – like these fun spatulas. They also have aprons, a cookie jar + more!

And as far as Christmas fun goes, we got this for outside and it’s a huge hit!

This corndog Christmas ornament is perfect for me and just about everyone I know. Food on a stick – right?!

When I’m not eating corndogs, I am enjoying this superfood latte mix! Golde has a few different flavors with amazing inflammatory goodness. Perfect for post-holiday detox days.

From Katie:

‘Tis the season of giving! For those of us local in LA – the LA Food Bank is a wonderful place to donate. Simply put, they donate food to individuals/families in need.

I did a bit of online shopping over the weekend to score some deals and made sure to SHOP SMALL at every chance I got. I snagged some earrings from Magiclay Made (a small shop) for a friend and also maybe myself…

I also bought this card game on Etsy for my husband for Christmas. Cards Against Humanity with a Harry Potter twist – and from a small shop? Add to cart! If you buy HP merch…buy it from a small shop if you can 🙂

I almost bought a nice dress recently but realized I don’t really have anywhere to go…so it’s time for another cute lounge set. And it’s amazing! Sweatshirt here and matching joggers here.

From Britt:

After a few chapters I devoured this book about a mysterious lake house and I just started this one which promises another gripping mystery — it also just got picked up for a Hulu miniseries!

A great way to give back this season is to support children and families in the foster care system. Friends of mine (and foster parents) launched their nonprofit, Our Open House, to do just that. You can donate or shop their Amazon wish list to give a gift to a foster child.

If you missed it last year, Last Christmas is on HBO Max and even though the twist was a little obvious, I was thoroughly amused by its charms!

From Jessi:

Okay, I’m sharing my secret for affordable holiday dresses. This boutique has SO many cute ones in velvet, sparkles, and satin designs.

Confession – I hate powdered hot chocolate mix. That’s why, every December, I make thick, homemade, Italian-style hot chocolate with this recipe!

Affordable, good-quality throw blankets are hard to come by. This Sherpa blanket is only $35! I just bought the green one for Christmas.

We put up our tree this week and I found a festive red cable knit skirt for only $30.

Happy weekend from us at GWS!
