Ideas

So we’re bringing this Good Friday to a close with a beautiful set of images supplied by a lovely team of wedding suppliers.  This editorial with the most gorgeous gowns and seasonal flowers is a celebration of early spring.

I don’t want to stop sharing spring wedding inspiration even though so many of you wonderful spring brides are having to postpone your weddings right now. I hope you won’t find my choice insensitive. It’s so important to me that I continue to support the British wedding industry right now more than ever.

I love how these photographs embrace elegance and eccentricity and was photographed at the beautiful Home House, an intimate and glamorous London wedding venue located just moments from Hyde Park and Oxford Street. Words from stylist Mwai Yeboah of Love From Mwai follow…

“The concept of this editorial shoot was to welcome the dawn of spring with classic elegance and an eccentric twist as our bride emerged from the winter months. We played with light and shadows, mixed the old with the new and set our contemporary bride amongst the rich historical setting of Home House.”

“Built in 1773, Home House was commissioned by Countess Home to be a pleasure palace full of fun and frivolity. Now an exclusive members club, we wanted to carry on that tradition of frivolity and fun as our bride played amongst the different spaces and prepared for her wedding day.”

“From the exquisite suites through to the grand private rooms, what struck us was that each space had very different characteristics and a personality of its own. We wanted to mirror that in the mood of our muse.”

Florals

“Spring blooms in shades of 2019’s Pantone colour of the year, “Living Coral,” mixed with antique pastel tones and contrasting flashes of blues and deep plum. The team at Your London Florist worked on expressive arrangements full of unique flair using Icelandic Poppies, vintage Anemones, chequered lilies, soft roses and tulips.”

“These flowers all sang together to create a symphony of nature that brought the wild energy of spring indoors and let the elegance and eccentricity of these organic forms shine.”

Bridal Styling

“Our beautiful model Melinda from Model Students was the perfect muse for this shoot. Her hair, a shade of soft coral, echoed Pantone’s 2019 darling and her graceful poise brought elegance to this shoot that Countess Home would be proud to have grace her halls.”

“We worked with the stunning, fashion-forward dresses of Israeli designer Zahavit Tshuba. Her pieces are daring and contemporary. They were the perfect contrast to the historical backdrop.”

“We mixed these dresses with a selection of accessories from designers Jane Bourvis and Maggie May Millinery to create looks that could take our bride from day to night. Jane Bourvis also lent us the stunning vintage kimono that our bride wears to begin her day.”

“The hairpieces and hair jewels allowed our hair and makeup artist (the extremely talented Meagan Edwards) to experiment with looks that were a mix of natural and dramatic.”

“The looks were finished with stunning shoes by Freya Rose’s Iconic Collection with inlays of mother of pearl in a classic block heel. The East London jeweler Tessa Metcalf lent us an incredible selection of pieces to adorn our model Melinda.”

Large faux pearls, golden cast birds feet and crystals with cocktail ring cuts shimmered and sparkled next to the inspiring fabrics Zahavit’s stunning gowns are made of.”
