Dark, Romantic & Rugged: A Late Autumn/Early Winter Glamorous Bridal Editorial on the Cornish Coastline

Ideas

I have been wanting to hare the work of talented wedding planner and stylist, Fern Godfrey, for sometime now. And thanks to this beautiful submission received by our highly recommended Little Book member, Carrie of Carrie Lavers Photography, I now can.

This sumptuous set of images (give me all the dark, delicious, sensuous and romantic tones please) were captured on the Cornish Coast and on location at ‘The Stack, a former engine house turned intimate wedding venue in the heart of Poldark country, and managed by Unique Home Stays. I adore how the team behind these images have created real feeling through their work; the light, the movement, the detail and scene – everything is balanced to perfection. Kudos to the entire team for a triumph of an editorial.

I have always been drawn to this kind of photography, and effortless, modern, glamorous bridal style, and am thrilled for the second time to be sharing the work of London based independent bridal designer, Julita LDN Bride. Anyway, I’ll let you draw your own response from these glorious images. I hope you love them as much as I do.

“For this editorial we wanted to embrace the rugged beauty of Cornwall and to celebrate the green and verdant countryside, as well as the stunning beaches.”

The Stacks a completely unique wedding venue surrounded by green fields, with a beautifully restored and luxurious Cornish-engine-house-turned-party house at its heart. Your ceremony takes place in the most incredible secret quarry area, hidden in the wooded gardens, almost covered by trees and greenery.”

“To capture that glorious woodland feel, we styled our shoot with nature in mind – a dark and muted Autumnal colour palette, lots of candles and a wedding cake by Oona’s Cakes that could be straight from a fairy tale.”

“The florals, all grown in Cornwall, looked perfect in the setting.”

“To add a touch of glamour, and as a nod to the colder seasons where sequins rein supreme, our bride wore a magical gown by Julita LDN Bride which looked spectacular against our moody woodland and beach settings.”

“As golden hour struck, we headed to the nearest beach to capture the incredible Cornish light as an ethereal Autumnal dusk fell. Getting married in Cornwall offers you the best of both worlds, gorgeous British countryside and incredible beach settings – and with the Stack equidistant to both coasts, it’s the perfect location for your intimate Cornish wedding, whatever the season!”
