Woodland Romance: A Treehouse Wedding in Maine

Planning

Main Treehouse Elopement

At the edge of the East Coast woods, you’ll find a rustic spot perched among the trees. The Woods Maine is a luxury style treehouse that immerses you in the fresh mountain air, pristine lakes, and vibrant, changing seasons. When we see a romantic spot like this, what comes to mind? A treehouse wedding – you know it!

Jessie of Jessie Felix Film + Photo and Taylor of Village Baking Co share their Covid-19 pivot-inspired intentions with this design: Our goal was to come up with a romantic and adventurous way to make our couples feel special when they have to downsize their big wedding. So, naturally, a treehouse wedding in Maine came right to mind! And doing it in true ‘Mainer’ style. An elopement like this offers couples a laid back weekend away celebrating their love.

In light of the pandemic forcing couples to shift their thinking, we’re so glad to see the exploration of unconventional wedding venues. Unique airbnbs and romantic treehouses for weddings are two of the many great examples of this. Adventure lovers, we’re especially talking to you! Surrounded by the lush woodlands, these two exchange vows on a romantic treehouse stairway. Pure magic, with a leap off of the pier to seal the deal!

Bounty O’ Blooms transforms the treehouse into a magical oasis. By wrapping greens and vines up and down the stairs, the result is instant romance. To illustrate the alchemy of the woods, Maine hops + other blooms adorn the staircase. Creating a lovely spot for a vow exchange!

Let’s all say hello to this woodland, bridal queen! A gorgeous tiara, bouquet, and floral tattoo crawling down the bride’s arm just amplifies the whimsy and romance of the woods. A treehouse wedding is the perfect setting for these blooms.

L.L. Bean is headquartered in Maine, so there’s no surprise that this groom is rocking that head to toe! We’re loving the suspenders + elongated boutonnière.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Some of our favorite memories of the weekend include hiking to the lake, enjoying the fresh air, and cooking meals together. It was such a laidback weekend and we loved spending an entire weekend getting married, opposed to just one day. Lots of time to relax and really enjoy the moment with one another. There was no stress involved or worrying about how perfect everything needed to be. It felt like we were literally on our honeymoon and just able to enjoy time with one another.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Our best advice is to make the day or weekend a moment not a “To Do List”. Go with the flow, enjoy your time with one another and your loved ones. Weddings have changed so drastically due to the current pandemic. Slowing life down a little has really put things into perspective. You find what you value in life more and most importantly you have more quality time to spend with your partner. Be different from everyone else and ELOPE. It is such a beautiful experience.

If a treehouse wedding doesn’t end with a pier jump into the lake, did it even happen? Bride + groom cheers to ‘getting hitched’ with Maine Beer Company and Sebago Brewing Company beer while floating in the water. What a great emphasis on traits of Maine + the ease of an intimate wedding or elopement.
