Spontaneous Lake Powell Elopement with Epic Cliffside Portraits

Planning

Southwest Desert Elopement

One word to describe this sun-soaked Lake Powell elopement: spontaneous! Having our original wedding postponed (and just about everything else that happened in 2020) taught Kyle and me how to be more spontaneous. That is exactly what we did! I think our elopement is best described as a spontaneous, intimate adventure that allowed us to start our lives together despite the circumstances and disappointments we faced in having to postpone.

Alisa + Kyle topped all of their life adventures with this epic elopement across Lake Powell, Utah and Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. These two, along with their photographer Jordan Voth, ventured near one cliffside, followed by another…and another! Here’s a sun-soaked fringe dress and emotional first look (among other elopement things) for endless scrolling.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Between the last-minute decision to elope and all of the eagerness to finally be married, Kyle and I forgot to write vows – whoops! In turn, this led to vows on the fly and a quick game of rock paper scissors to see who would be on the spot first. Kyle lost!

Meant to Be: The Boho Wedding Dress

Rue de Seine Dress
Bohemian, fringe-sleeved realness right here! Alisa is a stunner in this Adelia Lune gown by Rue de Seine. The embroidery and movement of her wedding dress go so well against the clay canyons + cliffs.

Alisa shares her dress journey: During my bridal appointment to pick up my original wedding dress, I had no idea where or what our wedding was going to look like (if anything!). That was until I noticed the rack of Rue de Seine gowns; before I was even out of my original dress, I knew I had to try one on. The embroidery and fringed arms of the Adelia Lune instantly grabbed my attention, and I knew right then and there that I needed to wear this dress in the desert!

Last-minute elopements have been popping up a lot over the past year (thanks, Covid). We love seeing couples take back some of that control, and have authentic, rad celebrations!
