Planning

Ammie and Shakur are a portrait of the 2020 Couple: planning a large wedding later to party with friends + fam, but totally ready to exchange vows in the meantime. And they had the perfect opportunity to do so at Providence Vineyard, the new-to-Chicago barn venue settled on 30 acres of rolling hills and grapevines! Chic From Chicago designed an intimate wedding inspiration full of citrus and mint details with velvet textures, all set against a backdrop of the airy space.

So, when did Ammie + Shakur know they were soulmates?

After being best friends for years and laughing at every single person who suggested we date, Shakur and I finally decided that they were absolutely right. After knowing each other for years, our love felt easy and natural. Shakur is such a romantic and the added bonus of knowing me so intricately definitely played in his favor. In between receiving sweet love poems and experiencing thoughtful dates after another, I’m not exactly sure when I knew for certain that Shakur would be the man I’d marry, but looking back now, it seems like any moment could have been the one.

Grey Garden Creative captured photos of the day — let’s have a look!

Switching into the second dress, and having another first look was one of my favorite moments! They transformed me into something beyond my expectations. Seeing Shakur’s surprise and experiencing his adoration so intensely for a second time was a sweet reminder of what the rest of our lives would be like together; full of ecstatic, beautiful, and “just when I thought this couldn’t get any better” moments.
