An Iridescent Caribbean Wedding Inspired by Prisms

Planning

Prismatic Caribbean Wedding

It was an iridescent bridal skirt covered in delicate mirrored sequins that started it all! Emma + Rob wanted their Caribbean wedding to be laid-back, beautiful and full of unique and memorable details. They absolutely pulled off that vision with the help of The Prism House! Who better to plan a “prismatic” wedding as they described it?? They all headed down to RhumbLines in St. John- U.S. Virgin Islands with crystals, pampas grass, and beachy vibes in hand! E shares more about their vision:

Our inspiration was a beachy boho vibe with an edge. We wanted something dreamy, colorful, and magical, and we got it alllll. We were fortunate enough to work with The Prism House who really understood our vision. They knew we weren’t looking to do what was simply “on trend” at the time. We wanted the design to feel fresh and moody with an insanely beautiful color palette. Every detail truly represented us as a couple and it’s something our guests remind us of to this day.

Lindsay Vann Photography was there to capture some seriously dreamy images! Let’s go!

Who wouldn’t go ga-ga over E’s incredible Chosen by One Day bridal skirt?! Total boho bridal perfection! She shares:

I have always wanted a non-traditional wedding look while still keeping it elegant. I felt there are no rules to follow for a destination wedding which is why I had so much fun creating this look. The skirt is made by chosen by one day bridal and was purchased at Lovely Bride in NYC. I designed the top myself and had my seamstress make it. She even added beading from the skirt to tie it all together. It was more than I could have dreamt up for a wedding day look.

You could never imagine by looking at these pictures, but E + R wed in St. John right after two devastating Category Five hurricanes, Irma and Maria, ripped through the area. One thing the The Prism House described and we absolutely love it, is that E + R’s wedding shows the resilience of the St. John area and community.

They continued their prism theme into the reception by incorporating iridescent glassware and dinnerware. We love that hint of color and how they pulled that into the soft pastel flowers as well!
