West Texas Wedding Inspiration with Sculptural Terracotta Arches

If your version of a desert oasis includes a dreamy Rue de Siene dress and terracotta arches, you are our people. There’s a special kind of magic you can only find in West Texas. And with the new-ish Willow House garnering the attention of travelers from all over, we think West Texas weddings may just be on the rise. Manda and her Portland-based team at Mae&Co Creative designed a day deep in the heart of the thriving minimalist art mecca:

When we started to design our shoot, we knew that we needed to look beyond arches found in traditional wedding rental inventories. We needed something dynamic, something sculptural to act in conversation with the texture of the desert and the Chisos mountains. We needed to create our own art. So our team designed and built unique arches that would stand out as the perfect ceremony backdrop.

Melissa Marshall was on hand to capture all the magic — let’s have a look!

These stunning arches were crafted by hand in Mae&Co Creative‘s Portland studio, then driven over 2,000 miles to their desert home!

The colors were inspired by the bride’s Rue de Seine gown from the Moonrise Canyon collection. The beautiful peach fabric informed every detail of the shoot from the unique floral arrangements by Goodseed Floral to the custom style and design!
